Cross-border sizzle: Shakib & Hania Amir set for on-screen fireworks
Shakib Khan and Hania Amir

Hold on to your popcorn, Dhallywood lovers! Shakib Khan has a brand-new leading lady, and she’s not from Kolkata or Dhaka. She’s none other than Pakistan’s stunning sweetheart Hania Amir!

Yes, the king of Bangladeshi cinema is all set to lock eyes, lips and hearts on screen with the Pakistani glam queen in his mega movie Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka. Forget borders, this is a sizzling cross-country love story fans didn’t even dare to dream of.

Ever since Prince was announced in August, whispers have flown faster than a Bollywood rumour mill about Shakib’s mystery heroine. From Idhika Pal to Tanjin Tisha, names came and went — but it’s now official in film circles: Hania Amir has stolen the crown. And guess what? Dhaka’s gossip grapevine says she’s already packing her bags to fly in as Sunsilk’s brand ambassador… and to seal the deal for Prince.

And here’s the juiciest bit: Shakib won’t stop at just one heroine. Oh no — Prince will feature three leading ladies, promising audiences a glamorous love triangle (or should we say quadrangle?) that’s dripping with drama. Producers tease that while two of the actresses will take centre stage, a surprise newcomer will add a “fresh twist” to Shakib’s already glittering harem.

Behind the scenes, director Abu Hayat Mahmud and producer Shirin Sultana (Creative Land) are pulling out all the stops, even roping in a Chinese production house to pump up the budget and bling. Screenwriters Mezbah Uddin Suman and Mohammad Nazim Uddin are cooking up what insiders call a “rollercoaster of romance, action and scandal” that will explode on screens this Eid-ul-Fitr.

With Shakib’s superstar charm and Hania’s glamour-bomb appeal, Prince is set to be the hottest, glossiest film event of the year. Dhallywood’s royal prince finally has his queen… and she’s from across the border.
