Legendary actor Javed buried in Uttara
Legendary Bangladeshi actor Ilias Javed, once a dominant presence on the country’s silver screen, has been laid to rest in Dhaka's Uttara.
He was buried in a graveyard at Uttara Sector 12 after the second namaz-e-janaza following Magribh prayers on Wednesday, January 21, with the presence of family members and colleagues from the film industry.
His first namaz-e-janaza took place at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) after Asr prayers, where film artistes paid tributes to him.
Javed passed away around 11:15 am today at his residence in Uttara at the age of 82.

Born in 1944 in Peshawar, Afghanistan, Javed later moved to Punjab with his family before settling in Dhaka in 1963 at the age of 14. He started his career as a dance director in the Dhaka film industry and made his acting debut in 1964 with the Urdu-language film 'Nayi Zindagi'.
Javed later established himself as one of the most popular film actors in the country, especially between 1970 and 1989. Known for his dance skills and on-screen charisma, Javed reportedly never faced a flop during his heyday.
Some of his notable films include 'Shahzada', 'Kajol Rekha', 'Saheb Bibi Golam', 'Nishan', 'Ruper Rani', 'Chandan Dwiper Rajkonnya', 'Aladdin Alibaba O Sindabad' and others.
In his personal life, Javed married popular actress Dolly Chowdhury in 1984. The couple met while working together in the film 'Chandan Dwiper Rajkonnya', where their on-screen chemistry blossomed into real-life romance.
