Trump claims he ‘ended seven wars’, demands seven Nobel Prizes
US President Donald Trump has once again made claims about his foreign policy record, declaring at a weekend speech that he “ended seven wars” and deserves seven Nobel Peace Prizes in return.
Speaking at the American Cornerstone Institute Founder’s Dinner on Saturday, Trump asserted that he brokered peace between nations including India and Pakistan, Thailand and Cambodia, and even Israel and Iran — conflicts that, in reality, remain unresolved or were never active wars during his presidency.
“I stopped wars between India and Pakistan, Thailand and Cambodia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Serbia, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Rwanda and the Congo,” Trump said. “We stopped all of them. Sixty per cent of them? Stopped with trade.”
“I told India, ‘Look, we’re not going to do any trade if you’re going to fight — and you have nuclear weapons,’” Trump said. “And they stopped.”
Trump also claimed he could have easily resolved the Russia-Ukraine war — had he remained in office — citing his “good relationship” with Vladimir Putin.
“I thought that would be the easiest one,” he said. “Disappointed in him. But we’ll get it done one way or the other.”
