13 flotilla vessels intercepted, 30 still sailing toward Gaza
Israel has intercepted 13 aid vessels attempting to reach the Gaza coast, while 30 others remain en route, according to the Global Sumud Flotilla.
The flotilla, carrying humanitarian supplies for Palestinians facing severe food shortages, aims to challenge Israel’s blockade of the war-torn territory.
“The illegal Israeli interceptions won’t deter us,” the group said in a statement. “We continue on our mission to break the siege and open a humanitarian corridor.”
The convoy is part of ongoing international efforts to deliver aid to Gaza, where the population is enduring worsening humanitarian conditions amid the conflict.
Flotilla spokesperson Saif Abukeshek provided a “mission update” on Instagram, confirming that Israeli forces have intercepted 13 boats at sea. He said the vessels carried more than 201 people from 37 countries, including 30 from Spain, 22 from Italy, 21 from Turkey, and 12 from Malaysia.
