A group of people carrying saffron flags staged a demonstration outside the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata on Friday, December 26, protesting against the murder of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh's Mymensingh.

The protesters brought out a procession from Sealdah Railway Station and attempted to march towards the Bangladesh mission. However, the police obstructed them at Behala Bagan intersection.

West Bengal Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led the protest.

Later, a four-member delegation led by Suvendu met the Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner, and after coming out of there, he told the media that they sought an explanation about Dipu Chandra Das killing in Bangladesh.

In reply, the Bangladesh envoy assured that those arrested in the murder will not be granted bail, and the Bangladesh government took the responsibility of Dupu's family, Suvendu added.

Earlier on December 22 and 23, a group of Hindu organisations staged protests outside the mission amid allegations of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh.
