Sikhs for Justice offers Tk 55 lakh reward for info on Hadi’s killers
A US-based Sikh organisation, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has announced a reward of Tk 505 lakh for information leading to the identification and arrest of the killers of Inqilab Moncho's spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
In a statement shared on social media platform X on Monday, December 29, SFJ said that according to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, the suspects in Hadi’s murder fled to India following the attack. The organisation is offering the reward to anyone who provides credible information that aids in locating, apprehending, and extraditing the perpetrators.
SFJ’s General Counsel, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, alleged that Hadi’s murder was carried out under directives from the Indian government and described it as part of a cross-border terrorist operation. He also noted similarities between this attack and the killing of Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
The organisation emphasised that the reward aims to encourage public cooperation and support law enforcement in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
No official response has been received so far from Indian authorities or the Indian High Commission in Dhaka regarding the announcement.
