Bomb scare on IndiGo flight, passengers offloaded at Kolkata
A bomb scare triggered panic on an IndiGo flight bound for Shillong from Kolkata after a threatening note was found inside the aircraft at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Saturday, February 14.
According to airport authorities, IndiGo flight 6E-7304 was scheduled to depart for Shillong at 9:05 am. During the boarding process, a member of the cabin crew discovered a note containing a bomb threat inside the toilet.
Following the discovery, passengers were immediately deboarded as a precaution. The aircraft was moved to a safe location and evacuated in line with security protocol.
Airport police said a thorough search of the aircraft was carried out, but no suspicious object was found on board. After completing all safety checks, the aircraft was declared secure.
Authorities said they are investigating how the threatening note was placed inside the aircraft’s toilet.
Later, the flight departed for Shillong at 1:33 pm after clearance from security agencies. No injuries or damage were reported in the incident.
