600 birds seized from Savar, 1 held
More than 600 birds of different species were seized from Zirabo area of Savar in Dhaka early Thursday.
Wildlife Crime Control Unit (WCCU) of the Bangladesh Forest Department conducted a drive and seized the birds.
A team of WCCU arrested one Lal Mia when he got down from a Dhaka-bound bus along with bird cages at Zirabo Bus Stand around 2am.
Lal Mia brought the birds from Bogra. He and his associates used to supply birds to the bird sellers and pet shops in Dhaka, it is learnt.
