Charge sheet in Holey Artisan attack case soon: DMP Commissioner
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia today said the probe into the sensational Holey Artisan attack case is in the final stage and charge sheet will be filed very soon.
"We did not have autopsy report, forensic report in the case. Very recently we have received the reports. Now we shall be able to file the charge sheet very soon," he said.
The DMP boss said the police have collected valuable information from Sohel Mahfuz, an alleged arms supplier of banned militant outfit neo-Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), about the last year attack.
Asaduzzaman said these while talking to newsmen after receiving keys of two microbuses donated by Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited at a simple ceremony at DMP Headquarters. Forensic examination report of different samples such as blood, hair and viscera of the five militants and a chef of Holey Artisan Bakery was handed over to police on July 1 after one year of that monstrous attack in that upscale caf, at Gulshan in the capital.
The five militants are: Nibras Islam, Rohan Imtiaz, Meer Saameh Mubasheer, Khairul Islam Payel and Shafiqul Islam Uzzal -- and the chef, Saiful Islam.
Around 30 people including foreigners, seven militants and two police officers were killed in the Holy Artisan attack on July 1 last year.
