9 killed in separate road accidents in Narsingdi
Nine people including a couple were killed in three separate road accidents in Raipura and Sadar upazilas of Narsingdi on Friday.
In Raipura of the District, four motorcyclists were killed when a bus hit a motorbike on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Charabagh in the morning.
The deceased were identified as Yamin, 23, Dalim, 17, Shohagh, 17, Ramjan Mia, 17. They hailed from Morjal area of Raipura.
Confirming the news, Delwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Raipura Police Station, said the accident occurred at around 8am when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus coming from Bhairab hit the bike which carried four people, leaving all the riders killed on the spot.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to local hospital morgue.
In another accident in Madhabdi, three people -- a rickshaw-puller, a passenger and a pedestrian -- were killed as a Habiganj-bound bus losing control over its wheel pushed a rickshaw from behind on Dhaka-Habiganj highway in front of Birampur Palli Bidyut office around 1:30pm.
The deceased were identified as rickshaw-puller Ilias Ali, 32, passenger Ratan Miah, 45, and pedestrian Makbul Miah, 40.
Besides, a couple was killed when a private car hit their motorcycle on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Panchdona area around 3:30pm.
The deceased were Aminul Haque, 35, and his wife Mansura Begum, 30, said Ilias Miah, officer-in-charge of Madhabdi Police Station.
Separate cases in incidents have been filed with Sadar, Raipura and Madhabdi police stations.
