BCL leader Rony apologises for assaulting college principal

Nurul Azim Rony, the general secretary of Chattogram city unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has expressed regret and apologised for assaulting the principal of Chattogram Biggan College.

He expressed regret and apologised in a written statement which was sent to media on Friday night. 

The BCL leader was widely criticized as a CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media after a couple of days.

Expressing compunction Rony said in his written statement, “I’m regretful and apologizing for failing to control my anger. I had to control myself. Mr Jahed Khan is with teaching profession. I’m ashamed of my behavior with him.”   

Jahed Khan came under the attack as the BCL men, led by general secretary Nurul Azim Rony, alleged that the principal was realising “extra money” as part of a development fee from the HSC examinees.

He on Thursday last filed a case with Chawk Bazar Police Station against Nurul Azim Rony for assaulting the principal on March 31.
