The bus service has resumed in the capital after a suspension for several days following student protests.

All types of vehicular movement was normal in different parts of Dhaka.

Earlier on Sunday night, Khandaker Enayetullah, Secretary General of Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Samity, told the journalists that they have decided to run all types of buses, including long-route ones, from Monday morning.

Amid the growing student movement over a nine-point demand, including ensuring safety, transport owners had suspended the bus services in the capital and on long-routes for an indefinite period.

On July 29, two students- Abdul Karim, 16, and Diya, 15, of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College were killed when a speedy bus rammed them on Airport Road of the capital city.

The incident triggered mass protest among students and they have been continuing the demonstration in demand of safe roads and justice.
