The Election Commission (EC) has granted the registration certificate to the Aam Janatar Dal after resolving all claims and objections related to the party’s registration. The party has been registered under the symbol of a butterfly.

The registration certificate, signed by EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed, was handed over to the party’s Member Secretary, Tarek Rahman.

Upon receiving the certificate, Tarek Rahman announced that the party would contest all 300 seats independently, without forming any alliance. He said, “As the Aam Janatar Dal, we will participate in the upcoming elections under the butterfly symbol. We will not form any alliances. We will contest 300 seats independently. We have fallen behind significantly. It would have been better if we had received registration earlier. We will nominate candidates in all 300 seats without forming any alliance. Everyone’s prayers are welcome so that we can act with integrity for the country.”

He further added, “We have received registration as a political party. We thank the Election Commission and the interim government. May we be able to contribute to the welfare of the people while respecting the sovereignty of our country.”

The EC stated that, in accordance with Chapter 6A of the Representation of the People Order, 1972, it was satisfied that the Aam Janatar Dal met all conditions for registration and therefore recognized it as a political party.

On 4 December, the EC Senior Secretary had said that the party had fulfilled all requirements for registration, and a principled decision had been made to grant it registration. A public notice was issued to confirm by 9 December whether there were any objections. After receiving objections within the stipulated time, the EC conducted a hearing, found all issues resolved, and granted registration to the party.
