2 Bangladeshis killed in road accident in Saudi Arabia

Two Bangladeshi expatriates were killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia around 8pm on Saturday (Bangladesh time).

The deceased were identified as Md Sagar Jomaddar, 23, son of Motahar Jomaddar of Hasnabad union at Betagi upazila in Barguna and his brother-in-law Md Mozammel Hossain, 45.

Sagar’s elder brother Md Ujjal Jommaddar said Sagar and Mozammel used to work at Unya in Algassim of Saudi Arabia. They went to Mecca to perform Umrah on Thursday. From there, they were returning to their workplace on Saturday by a car on Saturday. They were killed on the spot after their car lost control and crashed into a rocky hill.

Md Surhid Saleheen, Betagi Upazila Nirbahi Officer, said he was informed about the road accident.

Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia will take initiative to bring back home the bodies of the deceased, he added.
