5 more dengue patients die, 562 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Five more dengue patients died and 562 were hospitalised in the country in the last 24 hours.

With this, a total of 95,632 dengue cases and 522 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease were reported from January 1 to December 7 this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Saturday, December 7.

Of the dead, three were from Dhaka South City Corporation, one from Dhaka division, and another from Chattogram, according to the release.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 deaths from the disease which was the highest fatality in a year.

Besides, 3,21,179 dengue cases were reported in the same year.
