Dhaka’s air quality among world’s worst, ranks 2nd in pollution

Lahore, Pakistan, has topped the global air pollution list today, with Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, holding the second position. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 8:40 AM, this information has been confirmed.

Lahore leads the list with a pollution score of 237, indicating that the city's air is in a very unhealthy range. Dhaka follows closely in second place with a pollution score of 218, also placing it in the very unhealthy category. Yangon, Myanmar, ranks third with a pollution score of 190, categorized as unhealthy. Delhi, India, is in the fourth position.

An air quality score between 0 and 50 is considered good, while a score between 51 and 100 is categorized as moderate or acceptable. Scores ranging from 101 to 150 are considered unhealthy for sensitive groups, and scores between 151 and 200 are deemed unhealthy. A score between 201 and 300 is regarded as very unhealthy, while anything above 301 is considered hazardous.
