3 killed as bus runs over auto-rickshaw in Gazipur

Three passengers of a battery-powered auto-rickshaw were killed, and two others injured after being hit by a Takwa Paribahan bus in the Konabari area of Gazipur on Sunday morning.

Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police, SM Ashraful Islam, confirmed the incident.

He stated that a speeding Takwa Paribahan passenger bus ran over the battery-operated auto-rickshaw around 7:30 am, crushing it completely. Three passengers died on the spot, while two others sustained critical injuries.

Upon receiving the news, police and locals rushed to the scene, rescued the injured, and admitted them to the hospital. The police also recovered the bodies.

He further added that police are working to identify the victims, and legal action will be taken accordingly, he added.
