Barrister Tureen Afroz held in attempted murder case
The police arrested Barrister Tureen Afroz Dhaka's Uttara area on Monday night, April 7, in a case filed for attempting to kill a student during the July-August mass uprising.
She was apprehended from her house at Uttara Sector-3, deputy commissioner of Uttara Division under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, DMP, Md Mahidul Islam, told Jago News.
Apart from the case filed with Uttara West police station, there are multiple cases against her in Nilphamari.
Barrister Tureen Afroz was a prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal. She was removed from the tribunal for meeting with alleged war criminal Mohammad Wahidul Haque.
She sought Awami League’s nomination to contest the 2018 national election.
