Joint forces arrest 390 in week-long drive

The joint forces led by Bangladesh army have arrested 390 people with suspected links to criminal activities during a week-long drive across the country.

The Inter-Services Public Relations, ISPR, said this in a statement on Friday, April 18.

The statement said the army has been working aiming to maintain law and order in the country's ongoing situation.

From April 10 to April 17, units of different infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army, alongside other law-enforcing agencies, conducted drives in Dhaka and other parts of the country, the ISPR said.

The arrestees include listed criminals, identified miscreants, robbers, extortionists, accused in several cases, snatchers, teen gang members, drug dealers, and drug addicts, according to the ISPR.

During the operations, 10 illegal firearms, 46 different ammunitions, drugs, weapons, stolen phones and laptops, foreign currencies and cash money were recovered from them.

The arrestees were handed over to the police stations concerned for questioning and taking legal measures.
