Former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is returning home on Tuesday after undergoing medical treatment in London for the past four months. Upon arrival, she will travel directly by road from the airport to her residence, ‘Feroza’, in Gulshan.

Preparations at her residence have already been completed. Security has been tightened at ‘Feroza’ and in the surrounding areas. Members of various law enforcement agencies, including the army, have been deployed to ensure her safety. The visible presence of army personnel is particularly notable.

As observed firsthand at 8:00 am on Tuesday (May 6), the road in front of the ‘Feroza’ residence has been closed to vehicular traffic, although limited pedestrian movement is being allowed. A strict security cordon has been established by law enforcement officials.

Earlier, on Monday (May 5), Khaleda Zia departed London for Dhaka aboard a special royal aircraft — a modern air ambulance — provided by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. After a layover at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, the aircraft resumed its journey toward Dhaka at 6:05 am Bangladesh time.

Accompanying her on the flight are her two daughters-in-law, Dr. Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Sharmila Rahman.

BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed that the special air ambulance carrying the BNP Chairperson departed from Doha Airport for Bangladesh at 6:05 am Bangladesh time on Tuesday, May 6.
