Khalilur denies BNP leader’s claim of foreign citizenship

National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman on Sunday dismissed allegations made by a BNP leader claiming he holds foreign citizenship.

In response, Khalilur stated that he is fully prepared to exercise his rights as a Bangladeshi citizen and emphasised that the burden of proof lies with the individual who made the allegation. If necessary, he said, the matter could be addressed in a court of law.

“I remain prepared to exercise my rights as a Bangladeshi citizen to the fullest extent,” the National Security Adviser said.

BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed recently alleged that Dr Rahman is a foreign citizen.
