Waste management, aedes mosquito control not Army’s role: ISPR

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) clarified on Tuesday that the Bangladesh Army will not undertake waste management of sacrificial animals or Aedes mosquito control during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The statement responds to a recent claim by the Dhaka North City Corporation administrator, reported in the media, suggesting that the army would handle these tasks.

ISPR emphasised that the army is neither aware of nor planning to engage in such activities.

“The Bangladesh Army is focused on safeguarding national sovereignty and public safety,” the ISPR said. “Assigning waste management and mosquito control to relevant authorities is the most appropriate course of action.”
