2 cow traders fall victim to dope gang, lose Tk 20 lakh

Members of a dope gang (Aggyan Party) have looted around Tk 25 lakh from two cow traders in Dhaka’s Tejgaon area.

The victims have been identified as Md Hasan, 50, and Anwar Hossain, 51.

The incident occurred in Nabisco area around 12:30am on Friday, June 6. 

Later, one victim was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and another to a local hospital.

Another trader, Nur Islam, said they came to a cattle market in Tejgaon along with 28 cows from Chargaoiya village under Bakshiganj police station in Jamalpur.

At about 12:30am, Hasan and Anwar, who had around Tk 25 lakh after selling some cows, went out of the market to have food and were, later, found unconscious beside road, he said.

DMCH Police Camp in-charge inspector Md Faruque said they have received a complaint that a trader fell victim to a dope gang in Tejgaon area.

The police station concerned has been informed about the incident, he added.
