Wear mask in crowded areas, govt urges amid COVID resurgence

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a public advisory urging all citizens to wear masks in crowded areas due to a recent uptick in COVID-19 cases in parts of the country.
The ministry emphasized the need for heightened precautions, particularly for the elderly and those with underlying health conditions.
In an official statement, the ministry said, “In light of the rising COVID-19 infections, we urge everyone to wear masks in crowded places. We strongly advise the elderly and individuals with health conditions to avoid public gatherings to protect their well-being.”
The advisory follows reports of increased infections in certain regions, prompting renewed calls for adherence to health protocols.
The Ministry of Railways has also directed passengers traveling by train after the holy Eid-ul-Azha to wear masks and comply with health guidelines, especially during return journeys when crowds are expected.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare iterated its commitment to monitoring the situation and urged the public to stay vigilant. “Wearing masks and avoiding crowded areas are critical steps to curb the spread of the virus,” the press release added.
Authorities are expected to provide further updates as the situation evolves, with a focus on ensuring public safety during the festive period.
