If probe finds anyone guilty, we'll bring them to justice: Jahangir on Hamid

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhuruy has said if anyone is found guilty in the investigation, they will be brought to justice, emphasising that no innocent person would be punished.
He made the remarks in response to a query from the journalists about former President Abdul Hamid after visiting Jatrabari police station in Dhaka on Monday, June 9.
When he was asked that a former President went to abroad and also returned home but no action has been taken against him, Jahangir Alam stated that many said there are some cases against (Abdul Hamid) that have not been investigated. Those found guilty in the investigation have been brought to book.
"You (journalists) have always said that no innocent should be punished under any circumstances. So, let us to investigate. If anyone is found guilty in the probe, we will bring to justice," he vowed.
Noting that no one will be arrested until he is found accountable in the investigation in criminal cases, the home adviser questioned, "Why will we punish an innocent person?"
