Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus held a private one-to-one meeting with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace on Thursday to discuss Bangladesh’s reform initiatives.

“At 11:20am today, a private meeting took place between our Chief Adviser and King Charles III,” said Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, during a press briefing on the meeting’s outcomes.

During the discussion, they focused on the significant transition underway in Bangladesh.

The Chief Adviser briefed King Charles on the reform initiatives being undertaken by his government.

Shafiqul described the 30-minute meeting as cordial, noting that King Charles and Professor Yunus, who have known each other for a long time, covered a wide range of topics.

“This meeting was the most significant event of the entire tour,” Shafiqul said.

Following the one-to-one meeting, King Charles presented Professor Yunus with a signed photograph of himself and the Queen, an honour greatly appreciated by the Chief Adviser.

King Charles welcomed Professor Yunus at Buckingham Palace for this private audience.

In addition to regular diplomatic and political audiences, the Monarch meets individuals who have made exceptional contributions in their fields, particularly those receiving a Royal appointment or an award in their name.

By granting a private audience, The King recognises the importance of individuals and their work, offering them an opportunity to share insights and experience a memorable Royal occasion.
