1 dengue death, 416 fresh cases recorded in 24 hrs

Another death was reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Tuesday 8:00am to Wednesday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 44 this year.

The new death was reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

During the period, 416 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 11,098 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (July 2).

Of the new cases, highest 165 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 23 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 55 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 29 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 65 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Besides, 18 cases were recorded in Khulna division (outside the city corporation), 10 in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), and 51 in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation).
