ECNEC nods 12 projects worth Tk 8,149cr, with Tk 2,840cr for DU

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Sunday approved 12 projects with a total estimated cost of Tk 8,149.38 crore. Among these is a project for the further development of the University of Dhaka, costing Tk 2,840.39 crore.

The approvals came during the 12th ECNEC meeting of the interim government and the first meeting of the current fiscal year (FY26), held at the NEC Conference Room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.

ECNEC Chairperson and Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus presided over the meeting. Planning Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud briefed reporters afterward.

Of the total estimated cost, Tk 8,058.77 crore will be funded by the Government of Bangladesh, Tk 143.33 crore through project assistance, and Tk 52.72 crore from the concerned organizations’ own funds.

Among the approved projects, six are new, four have been revised, and two received time extensions without any increase in cost.
