3 more dengue deaths, 428 fresh cases recorded in 24 hrs

Three more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Tuesday 8:00am to Wednesday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 92 this year. 

Of the new deaths, one was reported in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), one in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation) and another in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation).

During the period, 428 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 22,812 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (August 6).

Of the new cases, 104 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 39 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 74 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 51 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 62 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 30 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation).

Besides, 14 were reported in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 50 in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation) and four in Rangpur division (outside the city corporation).
