3 more dengue deaths, 408 fresh cases recorded in 24 hrs

Three more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Wednesday 8:00am to Thursday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 95 this year. 

Of the new deaths, one was reported in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and another in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

During the period, 408 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 23,220 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (August 7).

Of the new cases, 73 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 58 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 59 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 37 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 57 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 37 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation).

Besides, 25 were reported in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 52 in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation), seven in Rangpur division (outside the city corporation), and three in Sylhet division (outside the city corporation).
