Dismembered body found in bag in Gazipur
Police recovered the dismembered body of a man from a bag in Gazipur on Friday morning.
The bag was found lying on the road in front of Haji’s Biryani restaurant on Station Road, under the jurisdiction of Tongi East Police Station.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed, but he is estimated to be around 35 years old.
According to police and local sources, residents noticed the suspicious bag on Station Road in Tongi early Friday morning. Out of curiosity, a few people opened it and discovered the dismembered body. Police from Tongi East Police Station arrived at the scene around 9:00 am and recovered the remains.
Police suspect that miscreants killed the man during the night, cut the body into pieces, placed the parts in the bag, and dumped it at the location before fleeing.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tongi East Police Station, Faridul Islam, said, “The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed. Miscreants killed him, dismembered the body, and left the bag at that spot in Tongi before fleeing. The remains have been sent to the morgue at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur.”
