ACC seeks wealth info of 17 NBR officials

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sought wealth statement of 17 officials of the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

The officials include NBR members Md Lutful Azim, AKM Badiul Alam (income tax policy), former additional director general (CIC) Md Alamgir Hossain, joint commissioner Md Tarique Hasan, additional commissiuoner Sadhan Kumar Kundu, customs excise and VAT commissionerate Quazi Md Zia Uddin, railway customs commissioner Md Kamruzzaman, largge taxpayer unit’s VAT commissionerate’s additional commissioner Abdur Rashid Mia.

ACC Director General Md Akhtar Hossain shared this information on Tuesday, August 19.

The anti-graft body found inconsistency in the wealth of the 17 NBR officials and that is why, it issued an order asking them to submit their asset information, he said.

Earlier in June and July, the Anti-Corruption Commission launched separate investigations against 11 NBR officials.
