Milestone tragedy: Another student dies after a month

Another victim of the fatal plane crash into Milestone School and College in Dhaka's Uttara died on Saturday morning, August 23, raising the death toll from the tragedy to 36.

The latest victim, Tasnia, 15, was a student of Class VIII at the Milestone School and College, and son of Md Nazmul from Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur. 

Tasnia died around 8:00am while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital, said Sultan Mahmud Sikder, acting resident surgeon at the facility.

Around 37 per cent of Tasnia's body was burnt, the physician said.

On July 21, an FT-7 BGI fighter jet of Bangladesh Air Force crashed into Milestone School and College shortly after taking off from the Kurmitola airbase. Of the 36 individuals who lost their lives in the incident, most were children.
