Govt transfers 230 judges

A total of 230 judges of various ranks, including District and Sessions Judges, Additional District Judges, Joint District Judges, Senior Assistant Judges, and Assistant Judges, have been transferred simultaneously.

The Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs issued a gazette notification regarding the transfers on Monday (August 25).

According to the notification, the transferred judges include 41 District and Sessions Judges, 53 Additional District Judges, 40 Joint District Judges, and 96 Senior Assistant and Assistant Judges.

The Law and Justice Division said the transfers were made in consultation with the Supreme Court.

The notification instructed the judges to hand over their current responsibilities by August 28 and immediately join their new workplaces. However, Senior Assistant Judges and Assistant Judges who are currently on training or leave have been directed to hand over their duties on completion of training or leave and then immediately take charge of their new postings.
