8 army personnel injured as truck crashes into patrol van

Eight army personnel were injured early Tuesday when a truck crashed into an army patrol van in Rajshahi. The incident took place around 5:00 am in the Model Town area of Mohonpur Upazila.

According to police and local sources, an army patrol team was on duty at night. As they reached the Mohonpur town area, a truck collided with the army vehicle from behind, causing both vehicles to fall into a roadside canal. All eight personnel were injured and taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, with two reported to be in critical condition.

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ataur Rahman of Rajshahi Mohonpur Police Station said, “A truck crashed into an army vehicle in the Model Town area of Mohonpur, injuring eight army personnel. No one has filed any case regarding the incident yet, and the army has not lodged any complaint. The legal process is still ongoing.”
