Journalist dies while covering DUCSU polls
A journalist passed away while covering the voting to the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and halls union elections on Tuesday, September 9.
Dead Tarikul Shibli, 40, was city reporter at a television named 'Channel S', and resided in Uttara's Diabari in the capital.
Tarikul suddenly became unconscious while covering the voting at Curzon Hall around 1:30pm, said his colleague Sohel Rana.
He was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared him dead, he added.
Md Faruk, in-charge at DMCH police camp, said doctors assume he might have died of heart attack, and actual cause of the dead could be known after autopsy report.
