Dhaka condemns Israeli aggression against Qatar
Bangladesh has unequivocally condemned the recent Israeli military aggression against the State of Qatar.
"Such actions constitute a clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar, as well as of international law and the principles of the UN Charter," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday, September 10.
Bangladesh stands in steadfast solidarity with the Government and people of Qatar in the face of this unlawful and unprovoked attack, it added.
"We call upon the international community, particularly the United Nations and relevant stakeholders, to take appropriate measures to ensure accountability and to uphold respect for international law and the UN Charter," read the statement.
Dhaka said that this incident is yet another indication of Israel's continued disregard for regional stability, international peace, and established international norms.
"Such actions undermine global efforts towards peace and security," it added.
Earlier, Foreign affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain stressed the urgency of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, accountability for the atrocities committed by Israel, and the need for lasting peace in the region.
He made the remark when visiting Chief Justice of Palestine Dr. Mahmoud Sidqi Al-Habbash, called on him at State Guest House Padma on Tuesday, September 9, a ministry's press release said today.
During the meeting, the Foreign Adviser reiterated Bangladesh's unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine and reaffirmed support for a two-State solution based on pre-1967 borders.
The Chief Justice of Palestine expressed deep gratitude to the leadership and people of Bangladesh for their steadfast support to the Palestinian cause and underscored the importance of greater unity within the Muslim Ummah on this issue.
Dr. Al-Habbash is visiting Bangladesh on a three-day official trip at the invitation of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh.
