Father, son die as truck hits auto-rickshaw in Bogura

Three people, including a man and his minor son, were killed and two others injured as a truck rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Bogrua’s Sariakandi on Friday morning, September 26.

The deceased were identified as Bipul Chandra Das, 38, and his son Pallab from Kuthibari village in Saghata upazila of Gaibandha, and the auto-rickshaw driver, Shukur Ali, 40, a resident of Sultanpur village in Shibganj of Bougra.

Sariakandi police station officer-in-charge (OC) Jamirul Islam said a sand-laden truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Kathaltala area under Fulbari union around 7:00am, leaving the latter vehicle’s driver dead on the spot and four others injured.

Later, the fire service personnel rescued the injured and admitted them to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where two died, said OC Jamirul.

Bipul and his minor son met their tragic end when he along with wife and children were going to his in-law’s home at Narchi village in Sariakandi, the OC added.
