Train services between Dhaka and northern districts have been suspended after the Panchagarh Express derailed at Bhangura railway station in Pabna early Monday morning (September 29).

The incident occurred around 4:00am, when the locomotive, a luggage van, and one passenger coach of the intercity train left the tracks as it passed through Bhangura station.

Pakshi Railway Transport Officer Hasina Khatun confirmed the derailment to Jago News, adding that no injuries or casualties have been reported.

The disruption has severed the key rail connection between the capital and the northern regions, with authorities working to restore services.
