9 die from dengue in a day; 1,042 more hospitalised

Nine more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 212 this year.

Of the new deaths, seven were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), one was recorded in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and another in Chattogram division (Out of CC).

During the period, 1,042 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, raising the total cases to 49,907 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (October 5).

Of the new cases, 197 were recorded in Barishal division (Out of CC), 104 in Chattogram division (Out of CC), 201 in Dhaka division (Out of CC), 198 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 121 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Besides, 72 new cases were reported in Khulna division (Out of CC), 41 in Mymensingh division (Out of CC), 82 in Rajshahi division (Out of CC), 23 in Rangpur division (Out of CC), and five in Sylhet division (Out of CC).
