Enforced disappearance: 2 formal charges filed against Hasina

The prosecution has filed two formal charges in crimes-against-humanity cases against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The charges were submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Wednesday (October 8).

One charge accuses 17 individuals—including Sheikh Hasina and retired Major General Tarique Ahmed Siddique—of abducting people with opposing political views and torturing them while keeping them detained in the secret cell of RAB’s Task Force Interrogation (TFI).

Another charge accuses 13 individuals—including Sheikh Hasina and retired Major General Tarique Ahmed Siddique—of abducting and torturing people while keeping them detained in the Joint Interrogation Cell (JIC) housed inside the DGFI headquarters.

Prosecutor Gazi Manowar Hossain (MH) Tamim confirmed the development, saying that two formal charges were filed at ICT-1 over enforced disappearances.
