NCC to submit recommendations for July Charter implementation soon
The National Consensus Commission (NCC) has announced that a specific and comprehensive set of recommendations for implementing the July Charter will be submitted to the government very soon.
The information was shared on Saturday (October 25) during a review meeting between the commission and experts at the NCC conference room in the National Parliament.
The meeting was organised to discuss recommendations concerning the methods and procedures for implementing the July Charter.
During the session, various proposals related to the charter’s implementation were thoroughly reviewed, followed by detailed discussions based on the experts’ suggestions. The day’s session continued from the previous day’s unfinished discussions.
Experts present at the meeting included retired Appellate Division Justice M. A. Matin; Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Dhaka, Dr. Mohammad Ikramul Haque; Senior Advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, Dr. Sharif Bhuiyan; Barrister Imran Siddique; and Barrister Tanim Hossain Shawon.
On behalf of the commission, participants included NCC Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz; members Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, and Dr. Mohammad Ayyub Mia; and Monir Haidar, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser involved in the National Consensus formation process.
