Metro rail incident: Victim's family to get Tk 5 lakh
The government will initially provide Tk 5 lakh in compensation to the family of a man who died after a bearing pad fell on him from the Dhaka Metro Rail line.
Railway Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan made the announcement after inspecting the scene in Dhaka's Farmgate on Sunday afternoon, October 26.
Besides, any competent person of his family, if any, will be given job in the metro rail, Fouzul said.

A five-member committe has been formed to investigate into the incident and asked it to submit probe report within the next two weeks, the adviser added.
Earlier at about 12:20pm, a pedestrian died on the spot after a bearing pad of the metro rail line fell on him beneath the Farmgate Metro Station.
The victim, identified as Abul Kalam, hailed from Naria in Shariatpur.
