3 buses, 1 private car set ablaze in early hours in Dhaka

Three buses and a private car were set on fire by unidentified arsonists in Dhaka during the early hours of Tuesday. The incidents took place in the areas of Jatrabari, Uttara, and Bashundhara areas.

Rashed bin Khalid, duty officer at the Fire Service control room, told Jago News that a report was received at 12:54 am about a fire on a Rajdhani Transport bus parked in Rayerbag, Jatrabari. Fire service units rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

At around 4:00 am, another fire was reported on a Raida Transport bus parked on Sonargaon Janapad Road, Uttara. Two fire service units quickly controlled the blaze.

Additionally, at 2:07 am, a Raida Transport bus parked at Kajla Toll Plaza, Jatrabari, was set on fire by unknown individuals. Fire service units were able to extinguish the flames.

The officer also reported that a private car was set on fire at 2:35 am on 100 Feet Road, Bashundhara, by unidentified arsonists. The fire was controlled after authorities were alerted.

Earlier, at around 7:30 pm on Monday, a moving bus of Shanta Mariam University caught fire in front of LabAid Hospital in Dhanmondi. Fire service units managed to extinguish the flames. Prior to this, two other buses were set on fire in the Merul Badda and Shahjadpur areas of the capital.
