Youth hacked to death in Gulshan

A young man was hacked to death in Dhaka's Gulshan area in the early hours of Tuesday, November 11.

The deceased was identified as Sourav. Though there is a speculation that Sourav is a leader of Surjomoni union unit Chhatra Dal in Patuakhali's Bauphal upazila, police could not confirm the matter.

Ali Ahmed Masud, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan's Gulshan Zone, this afternoon said the police recovered Sabbir's blood-stained body beside Gulshan Lake around 12:30am, and sent it to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The body bore 10 to 11 injury marks of sharp weapons, he said, adding that it could not be confirmed yet about his affiliation with any political organisation.
