Referendum, nat’l election to be held on same day: Yunus

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has announced that the referendum and the national parliamentary election will be held on the same day.

He made the announcement in his address to the nation on Thursday (13 November) afternoon.

The Chief Adviser said, “The referendum will be held on the same day as the upcoming national parliamentary election. In other words, like the national election, the referendum will also take place on the same day in the first half of February. This will in no way hinder the goals of the reforms. The election will be more festive and cost-effective. Necessary laws will be enacted in due course to facilitate the conduct of the referendum.”
