A youth, who was injured in a shooting by miscreants in Dhaka’s Jurain area, has died while undergoing treatment. Shahin, 26, passed away on Wednesday (25 November) around 1:30 am at the One-Stop Emergency Centre of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital.
Earlier, on Saturday (22 November) around 6:15 pm, Shahin was brought to Dhaka Medical in critical condition after being rescued.
Pedestrians Md Mohon and Khorshed, who took Shahin to the hospital, said he worked at a furniture shop in Jurain. On Saturday afternoon, attackers shot Shahin in the back of his head near the Chairman Bari area of Jurain and fled. He was later found in a bloodied condition and rushed to Dhaka Medical.
The victim’s brother, Saddam Bepari, said, “My brother was called over and attacked by four to five people who shot him in the head with a pistol. We demand proper justice for this murder.” He also suspects that those who rescued Shahin and brought him to the hospital may have been involved in the attack.
