60 Bangladeshis finally reach Malaysia after long wait

After a long wait and uncertainty, Bangladeshi nationals who have been unable to travel to Malaysia for a long time due to various difficulties have finally reached the country.

Initially, 60 individuals went to the country on a special flight operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Tuesday, November 25.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Manzurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, deputy commissioner Mst Sahanara Manika, and labour councilor Syed Shariful Islam welcomed them at the airport.

The Bangladesh embassy in Kuala Lumpur said the Bangladesh government took a special initiative to assist workers who could not travel to Malaysia for a long time due to various difficulties, despite the Malaysian government approving their recruitment (calling visa). As part of this, 60 workers reached the country in the first phase.

The embassy said both countries and related organisations are working closely to create new opportunities for Bangladeshi citizens in the Malaysian labour market.
