Govt monitoring online defamation attempt against Ali Riaz
The government says it is closely monitoring attempts to defame Professor Ali Riaz, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, after a woman identified as Atandranu Ripa began circulating what officials describe as false and fabricated video statements on social media since Tuesday.
According to a statement shared on the Chief Adviser’s official Facebook page, Professor Riaz said he does not know the woman and rejected all allegations regarding any personal contact or relationship with her, calling the claims “entirely false and baseless.”
He urged those involved to immediately stop spreading such content, warning that failure to do so would trigger legal action.
“These defamatory and offensive claims are being spread intentionally,” the statement said, adding that authorities are considering further steps to address the issue.
