3 killed in clash over land dispute in Kurigram
Three people, including a woman, were killed and four others injured in a clash between two groups of people in Kurigram's Nageshwari on Sunday afternoon, November 30, over a land dispute.
The deceased were identified as Altaf Hossain, 50, Ershad Ali, 35, and Kulsum Begum, 50, residents of Chilakhana village under Santoshpur union in the upazila.
Police said Nur Mohammad Manik Ullah and Altaf Hossain, residents of the village, had been at loggerheads over a land. In continuation of this, people from both sides clashed around 11:00 am over harvesting paddy on the land, leaving two dead on the spot and five injured.
The injured were rushed to Nageshwari Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared another dead.
Nageshwari police station's officer-in-charge, Rezaul Karim Reza, said he is on the scene and police are trying to arrest those injured in the incident.
